The Canadian Coast Guard requires a qualified marine salvage contractor to dismantle, recycle, and dispose of the MV Capt. Earl W. Winsor in an environmentally responsible way. Work includes preparing the vessel for towing if needed, removing pollutants, conducting stability and survey assessments, and deconstructing the steel-hulled ferry at an approved site. This project reduces environmental risk and clears a damaged vessel from layup.
