NRCan seeks to conduct a comprehensive national and provincial privacy assessment of building information and energy data to support the development and implementation of energy management policies by provincial, territorial, and municipal governments. This assessment aims to identify and address discrepancies in privacy law interpretations regarding building data, facilitating collaboration and consistency in energy efficiency regulations across Canada, ultimately reducing energy costs and emissions while improving building performance.
