Measurement of Micronucleus Incidence

The Government of Canada seeks a contractor to measure micronucleus (MN) incidence in urothelial and buccal epithelial cells from wildland firefighters. This project aims to assess cancer risk linked to firefighting, following the recent Prevention and Treatment of Cancers Linked to Firefighting Act. The contractor will conduct a pilot study with 12 samples, followed by annual collection of 90 samples from active firefighters. This work is crucial for developing strategies to mitigate cancer risks among firefighters.
