Shellfish water classification program - Quebec

The supplier will conduct shellfish water quality studies on Quebec’s North Shore to support the Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program. Work includes collecting seawater samples, performing accredited bacteriological testing for fecal coliforms, recording physical and weather conditions, and entering results into PRISM. Weekly and monthly sampling plans plus field logs are also required. This work is critical to confirm classified shellfish areas meet public health standards for commercial, recreational, and Indigenous harvesting.
