Correctional Service Canada requires American Sign Language (ASL), Langue des Signes Québécoise (LSQ), and Deaf Interpretation services for various interactions with offenders in the Ontario Region. The objective is to have a minimum of three ASL interpreters, one LSQ interpreter, and three Deaf interpreters available at all times for in-person and virtual communication. The contractor must be a certified member of CASLI and provide interpreters who are certified by ATIO or an equivalent provincial body for communication with CSC staff, PBC members, and offenders.
