DND is planning multi-billion-dollar Modified Design-Build contracts for NORAD northern basing upgrades at Inuvik and Yellowknife FOLs. Work includes airfield upgrades, hangars/aprons/taxiways, ammunition and fuel facilities, accommodations, warehousing, IT/cyber/logistics infrastructure, and related support buildings. The goal is to enable advanced Arctic aircraft operations, rapid deployment, and continental defence. Contractors will need SECRET-level security clearance and an Indigenous Benefits Plan.
