DRDC Ottawa plans a major secure design-build project at Shirleys Bay: a new 21,000 m² defence research facility for about 270 staff, plus demolition of roughly 5,000 m² of aging labs, admin, storage, trailers and support buildings. The selected contractor will likely manage integrated design, construction, demolition, and Indigenous subcontracting opportunities. Secret-level security clearance will be required. Estimated value: $300M–$450M.
