Ontario is seeking up to 14 medium category helicopters, equipped with belly tanks and Transport Canada-approved STCs, to support wildland firefighting across the province. The contractor(s) must provide aircraft for crew insertion/extraction, water bombing, sling loads, reconnaissance, patrol, and operations in remote areas during the 2026–2027 fire seasons, with possible extensions. Helicopters may also be deployed to other Canadian jurisdictions or U.S. states under mutual aid, making this a critical aviation support service for emergency wildfire response and public safety.
