The District of Sooke, on behalf of SIRAC and South Island local governments, is seeking a consultant to serve as a local government treaty and reconciliation advisor/representative. The work includes attending Te’mexw Treaty table meetings as part of the provincial negotiating team, advising the Province on municipal and regional interests, coordinating SIRAC meetings, and keeping members informed on treaty and reconciliation developments. This is a part-time, on-call role with variable workload, valued at about $40,000–$60,000 annually, and is important for ensuring local government perspectives are represented in provincial–First Nations negotiations.
